We hope that you have all enjoyed the summer holiday and are ready for a new year at school. We are really looking forward to getting to know and working with all the children in Kingfisher Class throughout the year. We have a busy year ahead of us with lots of new concepts to learn about and lots of exciting activities planned.

Our topic this term is World War 1 & 2. On the transfer afternoon, children came up with a list of questions they would like to find out about during this topic. Some of the things they wanted to learn about included: how both wars began & why, what rationing was like, what weapons were used & how did they differ between both wars & different armies, what it was like to be evacuated, what games and toys children played with, what it was like to be a soldier, life in the trenches and how the wars ended. We hope that we will be able to answer these and many other questions the children have about the war.

Children will need to ensure that they have their named PE kits in school each day as PE lessons are subject to change. Children will require both indoor and outdoor kit throughout the year PE kit should consist of: white t-shirt, black or navy short, tracksuit and trainers.

Homework will be sent out on a Thursday and due in on a Tuesday.
